airberlin: More passengers in September
13. ockober 2011 13:15 | Commercial AviationIn September 2011, airberlin welcomed 3,683,519 passengers on board, i.e. about 1 percent more than in the corresponding month of the previous year (September 2010: 3,652,087 passengers). At 82.8 percent, fleet capacity utilization remained approximately at the previous year's level ( 0.1 percentage points). Capacity increased by 0.7 percent over the previous year. The reason is that the 2011 summer vacation in North Rhine-Westphalia extended into September.
For the period from January to September, airberlin, Germany's second-largest airline company, was able to increase the number of passengers transported to 27,675,491, i.e. an increase of 4 percent (2010: 26,604,510 passengers). For the same period, fleet capacity utilization improved from 76.1 to 78.6 percent ( 2.5 percentage points). Accumulated capacity for the first nine months of the year increased by 0.7 percent.
