AMR price for Monday: $1.98, down 33 percent
Bankruptcy rumors swirled around AMR Corp. on Monday, sending the stock down 33 percent to close at a $1.98.
Over 76 million shares of AMR stock were traded on Monday, six times more than the stock's usual daily trading volume of 11 million. The stock's trading was halted several times because its decline tripped automatic market triggers.
