August traffic is a mixed-bag for the airlines
It looks like the major carriers are starting to feel the impact of a weakening economy.
As the summer travel season ended, American, United and Delta all posted slight declines in August traffic. On the positive side, Alaska, JetBlue, and Southwest reported increases in their passenger traffic for the month even as they continue to add capacity to their networks.
