Icelandair Extends Repair Relationship with Bombardier Aerospace
10. june 2011 13:55 | TechnicalBombardier Aerospace today announced that it has signed a new repair agreement with Icelandair, based in Reykjavik, Iceland. The seven-year contract means that Bombardier will undertake all repair work on engine nose cowls for Icelandair’s fleet of Boeing 757 aircraft.
Bombardier has more than 15 years of experience in repairing RB211 535E4 engine nose cowls, and this new agreement extends a well-established and successful collaboration with Icelandair. Bombardier previously had a five-year repair contract with the airline.
“Bombardier Aerospace has extensive experience in the design and manufacture of engine nacelles. We are constantly drawing on that expertise to engineer innovative repair solutions at our Belfast-based Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facility,” said Stephen Addis, General Manager, Customer Services, Bombardier Aerospace, Belfast. “This new agreement strengthens our relationship with Icelandair and provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate our growing capabilities in aftermarket services,” he added.
“We are delighted to sign a new repair agreement with Bombardier,” said Jens Bjarnason, Senior Vice President, Technical Operations, Icelandair. “It’s a further endorsement of our existing relationship and Icelandair’s confidence in Bombardier’s ability to provide a high-quality product and service. We look forward to developing this collaboration in the future.”
