Factoids from Southwest Airlines annual report
Southwest Airlines on Tuesday filed its 10-K annual financial report for 2010. Let's look at what's in there:
More passengers are connecting. Approximately 73 percent of Southwest's passengers flew non-stop in 2010, compared to 76 percent in 2009 and 78 percent in 2008. Southwest said its efforts to optimize its network created better connections and therefore more connecting passengers.
The average flight is longer. The average Southwest flight in 2010 went 648 miles, compared to 639 in 2009 and 636 in 2008.
