Southwest: Look for that AirTran merger in Q2 2011
Jeff Lamb, the Southwest Airlines executive who is heading Southwest's integration team, advised employees Friday that the merger with AirTran Holdings likely will close in second quarter 2011.
"At this point, we have a little clearer picture of the timeframe, and it appears likely that closing will occur in the second quarter of 2011, assuming all government approvals and clearances are received by that time," Lamb said on an internal employee website.
