Terror Threat Expected To Impact Air Freight

Anticipated security measures from the Oct. 29 discovery of explosives shipped via air freight are expected to trigger new security measures and could dampen the rebound the sector has seen in recent months.


“I am sure the additional security will have an impact” on the rebound in freight traffic seen in Europe so far this year, says Jonathan Moor, the director general of the U.K. Civil Aviation Authority. The growth through the first eight months topped 23% year-on-year, he told the Doha Aviation Summit.
