Boeing Shakes Up 747-8 Program Management
1. september 2010 13:23 | ManufacturersAviation Week
Boeing Commercial Airplanes Programs VP and General Manager Pat Shanahan added oversight of 747-8 freighter and intercontinental transports to his role as general manager of all aircraft production yesterday.
The announcement of the change came late Friday. Shanahan told employees that Mo Yahyavi, the current 747-8 general manager, will take on “a special assignment.” Yahyavi pushed the 747-8F through development and into flight tests, and the 747-8I into the final stages of assembly. But the airplane’s first delivery, already more than a year off pace, is now mostly likely going to slip into 2011, although officially, Cargolux is to get the first freighter late this year.
