Aviation pioneer Lilian Bland took flight 100 years ago

Everybody knows the Wright brothers. They invented the airplane in 1903. And we're sure you know about the famous female flier Amelia Earhart. But we bet you've never heard of Lilian Bland. 


When she was growing up in Northern Ireland, she made paper airplanes, gliders and then big gliders that she flew down the easy hills near her home. She let youngsters ride with her.
