Senate panel proposes cut in 2011 F-35 buy

In its first draft of a defense spending bill for the 2011 fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1, the Senate defense appropriations subcommittee wants to cut from 42 to 32 the number of F-35 Joint Strike Fighters the Pentagon would be allowed to buy.
